View Details About the Court Who We Are The Toledo Municipal Court plays a critical role in upholding the principles of justice, equality, and the rule of law. Our focus is providing service and respect to the members of our community. We serve the City of Toledo, Ottawa Hills, and Washington Township. The court is divided into three separate branches: the Clerk’s Office, the Judges’ Division, and the Housing Court. Separately elected officials oversee the three divisions but they all work together to fulfill the mission of the court: to hear and dispose of cases in a timely manner while providing opportunities for rehabilitation. Court Foundation & Growth The roots of the Toledo Municipal Court can be traced back to the early 19th century when the city’s growing population required the establishment of a municipal court. The court has evolved and adapted over the years to meet the changing needs of the community it serves. The Team That Serves You Our team of judges, magistrates, bailiffs, clerks, probation officers, court specialists, mediators, and administrative staff work together to ensure every case is heard and resolved while enhancing public trust and confidence in the court system. Mission The mission of the Toledo Municipal Court is to hear and dispose of cases within the court's jurisdictional limits in a judicious and timely manner and provide opportunities for rehabilitation. The Court's operation is defined by the federal and state constitutions, the Ohio Revised Code, the Toledo Municipal Code, State of Ohio Civil and Criminal Procedural Rules, and the Rules of Superintendence.
