Birth or death certificates: Please contact The Division of Vital Records in New Castle, PA at 724-656-3100. Marriage License: Please contact The Luzerne County Register of Wills in Wilkes-Barre, PA at 570-825-1668. Divorce Decree: Please contat The Luzerne County Prothonotary in Wilkes-Barre, PA at 570-825-1745. Property deeds in Hazleton: Please contact the Luzerne County Recorder of Deeds in Wilkes-Barre, PA at 570-825-1641. Tax information of a specific property: Please contact Berkheimer Associates at, 610-588-0965 (M-F 9AM- 12PM. And 1PM- 4PM at Hazleton City Hall). The Right-to-Know Law became effective on January 1, 2009. This law, in its entirety, can be found on the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records website. Requests must be made in writing on the approved Right-to-Know form, and sent by e-mail, fax, regular mail, or delivered in person. No verbal requests will be accepted. A request should describe or identify the records sought with enough specificity to enable the Open Records Officer to ascertain which records are being requested. The cost for copies of records $0.25 per page, plus the cost of postage. The cost to scan paper copies for the purpose of emailing a response is $0.15 per page. The cost to certify a record will be $5.00 per record, plus the cost of postage. All applicable fees must be paid in order to receive access to the records requested.
