The Chester County Archives, established in 1982, preserves and provides access to over 3,500 cubic feet of original public records and serves more than 3,000 researchers annually including genealogists, property researchers, and historians. In 1985, the archives expanded to include micrographics and records management sections to facilitate disposal, access, preservation, and management of current public records in compliance with Pennsylvania state guidelines and court requirements. The archives is administered by the Chester County History Center in cooperation with Chester County and is directed by Cliff C. Parker, operating Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 601 Westtown Road, Suite 080, West Chester, PA 19380.
