Open Records Policy South Coventry Township Open Records Policy Summary Download Open Records Request Form Here Records Requests Public records will be available for inspection and copying at the Township Municipal Building during normal business hours, Monday through Thursday, 9:00am to 4:00pm, or Friday by appointment, with the exception of holidays. Requests shall be in writing on the Township Record Request Form or the PA Office of Open Records Uniform Request Form. Record requests must include a clear description of records being sought. Requests should be directed to the Township Secretary, who is the appointed Open Records Officer, at: South Coventry Township Attn: Open Records Officer 1371 New Philadelphia Road Pottstown, PA 19465 Fees Black and white paper copies fees will be $0.25 per side for 8 ½” x 11”, $0.50 per side for 8 ½” x 14” and $0.75 per side for 11” x 17”. If mailing is requested, the cost of postage will be charged. If “True and Correct Certification” is requested, an additional charge of $1.00 per document will be added. Fees for maps, plans or other items will be actual costs paid by Township to duplicate requested information. The Township will require prepayment if the total fees are estimated to exceed $100. Response The Township will make a good faith effort to provide the requested public records as promptly as feasible. Township employees shall cooperate with those requesting to review and/or duplicate original Township documents while taking reasonable measures to protect Township documents from the possibility of theft and/or modification. The Township Secretary shall review all written requests for access to public records. As soon as possible, but no later than five business days after receiving a written request to access public records, the Township Secretary shall respond to all such requests in a manner consistent with Act 3 of 2008, the Right-to-Know Law. Appeals Process If a written request is denied or deemed denied, the requester may file a written appeal with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Office of Open Records within 15 business days from the mailing date of the Township’s response or the date that the request was denied.
