PETERSBURG TO SEEK PUBLIC INPUT AT ANNUAL BUDGET OPEN HOUSE ON APRIL 14 April 11, 2025 – The public is invited to the City's annual Budget Open House on Monday, April 14, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 175 5th St. N. The Budget Open House will include an overview of the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget process, remarks from Mayor Welch and City Council, and an opportunity for the public to provide input on budget priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. This year's budget considerations will focus on resilience. After back-to-back hurricanes in 2024, the City of St. Petersburg acknowledges the need for St. Pete's communities, infrastructure, ecosystems, and individuals to adapt to and recover from adverse conditions such as hurricanes, flooding, sea-level rise, and other climate-related impacts. "While resilience has been a City priority for many years, the events during last year’s storm season have shown the need for this to remain a top priority for the City," said Assistant City Administrator Tom Greene. "For Fiscal Year 2026 budget, our City teams will be tying their budget proposals to resilience, both within their department and throughout the City."
