  • 2025-2310: Petition from the residents of the City of Pittsburgh requesting a Public Hearing before City Council relative to passing Sanctuary City legislation for Pittsburgh to make the City a truly welcoming City for all by codifying in law that all City public services should be made accessible to everyone regardless of immigration status, origin, color of skin, sexual orientation, religion or language. The legislation should make it illegal for all City agencies, Pittsburgh City Police to collaborate with the Immigration Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) and to disclose information about the immigration status of any person. Similar to Sanctuary City legislation passed by Cities such as Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and others, the proposed legislation is intended to help all immigrants and all vulnerable communities feel welcome and safe in Pittsburgh.
