  Fort Collins Ordinance No. 055, 2024 repeals and reenacts Section 29-1 of the City Code to adopt a revised Land Use Code by reference, replacing the 1997 Land Use Code (originally adopted March 18, 1997 via Ordinance No. 51, 1997, and reenacted December 2, 1997 via Ordinance No. 190, 1997). The revision is intended to align the 1997 Land Use Code with the 2019 City Plan (adopted April 16, 2019 via Resolution 2019-048 and ratified by Ordinance No. 40, 2020), the Housing Strategic Plan (adopted March 2, 2021 via Ordinance No. 033, 2021), and the Our Climate Future Plan (adopted March 16, 2021 via Resolution 2021-031). The ordinance aims to reorganize and improve foundational aspects of the code—consolidating standards, eliminating repetition, and simplifying language—while advancing housing supply and affordability goals and climate mitigation objectives informed by a January 2020 Land Use Code Audit.
