2025 Alley and Sidewalk Improvements July 22, 2025 Alley North of Grant Street and East of Hartrey Avenue Description As part of the 2025 Alley and Sidewalk Improvements Project, sewer and pavement improvements will take place over the next four to six weeks at the alley North of Grant Street and East of Hartrey Avenue. The work includes a sewer extension on Colfax Street between Hartrey Avenue and Brown Avenue, installation of storm sewers, installation of 8-inch-thick concrete alley pavement, and garage apron restoration as needed. Work will begin with the storm sewer extension on Colfax Street. During this phase, alley access will be maintained. Once the sewer extension is complete, alley reconstruction will begin. A notice with the exact start date for the alley closure will be posted at each alley entrance prior to construction. The alley will be closed to traffic during construction. We kindly ask that all vehicles be removed from garages and parking areas before the closure begins. Please note that there will be periods of inactivity to allow the newly placed concrete to cure and gain sufficient strength before the alley is reopened. While the alley is closed, refuse and recycling collection will take place at the curb in front of your property. In addition, street sweeping parking restrictions will be waived within a one-block radius of the affected alley to accommodate increased demand for on-street parking during construction.
