The City Administrator is the Chief Administrative Officer of the City of Pottsville and is responsible to the City Council as a whole for the proper and efficient administration of the affairs of the City. The Administrator supervises and is responsible for the activities of all City Departments. The Administrator serves as the Deputy Director of all City departments. Under Pottsville's form of Commission Government elected members of City Council serve as department directors.
