Boise County Financial Policy As ex-officio Recorder, the Clerk is responsible (I.C. 31-2402) to record: Deeds, grants, transfers and mortgages of real estate, releases of mortgages, powers of attorney to convey real estate and leases which have been acknowledged or proved, and transcripts of judgments or decrees which affect the title or possession of real property including water rights, any part of which is situate in the county of which the person is the recorder. Certificates of marriage and marriage contracts. Wills admitted to probate. Official bonds. Notice of mechanics’ liens. Transcripts of judgments which by law are made liens upon real estate. Notices of attachments upon real estate. Notices of the pendency of an action affecting real estate, the title thereto or possession thereof. Instruments describing or relating to the separate property of married women. Notices of preemption claims. Certified copies of any petition, with the schedules omitted, filed in, and certified copies of any order or decree made or entered in proceeding under the National Bankruptcy Act. Financing statements under the Uniform Commercial Code which cover timber to be cut, minerals or the like (including oil and gas), and accounts subject to Subsection (5) of I.C. 28-9-103). Notice of order of a general adjudication in conformance with section I.C. 42-1408. Such other writings are required or permitted by law to be recorded. Other writings required or permitted by law would include: various indexes (I.C. 31-2404 & 2405), certificates of sale and various other records. BOISE COUNTY IS DOING MARRIAGE LICENSES BY APPOINTMENT ONLY: Monday from 11am to 1pm Wednesday from 11am to 4pm Friday from 11am to 1pm Marriage Licenses Where to apply for your Marriage License: Marriage Licenses are issued in the Recorder’s Office in Idaho City. Office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you will be married in Idaho, you must obtain a marriage license. If you are to be married in another state, you will need to get a license from that state. What you will need if you are 18 years of age or older. Both people need to appear at the Recorder’s office in person. Both need forms of photo identification. If no Social Security Number – A letter from Social Security office is required Fill out marriage license application forms. They must have been taken in the last six (6) months and have a light colored background. Glasses are no longer acceptable in a passport photo. A check made out to DEPARTMENT OF STATE in the amount of $130.00 for anyone 16 years of age and older, $100.00 for anyone under 16. If the check is for more than one person, write the date of birth for each person on the check. A $35.00 fee per passport is required by the County. This payment can either be cash, check or credit card. Individual checks for each application is not required. STATE CERTIFIED COPY OF YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE. This must have a raised, State Seal on it. Hospital certificates are not acceptable. If you are a Naturalized Citizen you must present us with your Original Naturalization Papers.
